Since 2009 we have been developing sites using WordPress. It has proven itself time and again and has become our primary framework with which to provide web solutions. Because it can be quick to setup and enables you to add your own content we are offering an entry level package for £199. If you want to go a step further and have a completely unique look to your site without breaking the bank, we are offering an entry level custom WordPress site for just £499. What we can do with WordPress:
- Installation and Configuration: before a site is built, the WordPress infrastructure must be uploaded to your server, a database is created (usually MySQL) and WordPress is configured to speak to the database and run on the server.
- Layout, look and feel: WordPress uses templates to determine how your web pages look and how the page information is displayed (fonts, colours, background images). They also determine what information is displayed (which can range from basic text entered via the WordPress control panel, to information stored in a database which may have been gathered by a form on your site for example - the sky's the limit). This is something that we can do well. However, you may just want a very simple site and may not need a unique look, in which case you could choose from hundreds of free templates available on the internet. These can be easily installed by you but is also something we can do on your behalf.
- Feature extension: WordPress uses applications, called plugins, to extend the features of the basic WordPress installation (see above). Plugins are easily installed via the control panel and can often be used without any prior web design knowledge. Other plugins (or uses of them) may require the page templates to be modified.
- Support: When we quote you for a web design job we always throw in a couple of hours support to get you up and running. As mentioned above there is a plethora of WordPress support forums, articles and help sites but we are also here for any further assistance though we do need to charge for this service.
